THE QURAN – 1/05 – 2016

The Koran: Some topics are not strictly treated according to the prescriptions

There are two ways to read the Koran:

  1. Read and apply the text to the letter without correlating it to the whole text: “cut off the thief’s hand” without considering the Koran’s insistence on Forgiveness.
  2. The second way is to take the Koran as a whole. The Believer does not seek the truth in the single sentence but in the general context, they do not remain disturbed by the isolated contradictions.

Despite the existence of verses that contradict each other, modernist Muslims assert that the Koran should be read as a single Chapter and that the truth is to be sought in the evolution of the text and not in the reading of a verse taken in isolation. The sacred texts are a source of meditations and reflections:

– If all the plants that exist on earth were to become a series of feathers, and if all the water of the sea and seven other seas were to become ink, they would not be enough to write the word of God, who is powerful and wise” (Koran 31:27).

– “There are many other things that Jesus did, and if they were written one by one, I do not think that even the whole world could contain the books that should be written” (John 21:25).

Spiritual themes – Love:

The Clement (God) will grant his love to those who believe and do well.

To confirm the spiritual depth of Islam we can cite Muhammad’s hadith on the love of God: “When God loves a servant he puts him to the test; if he is patient, he puts him aside; if he places his affection in God, he chooses him… and when he loves him with total love, he takes possession of him, stripping him of everything”. Padre Pio: “Let yourself be loved by God and you can do what you want”.

Soul: God imposes on her only the burdens that she can bear.

Goodness:

  • A good word and an act of forgiveness are worth more than alms followed by offence. Do not spoil your alms by criticizing and offending others, as the one who gives his goods to be seen.
  • Repel evil with a greater good. Repel evil with a greater good, and he who was your enemy will become your close friend. (41, v.34)
  • God will surely give him the reward to whom forgives and reconciles. He who is patient and forgiving knows that this is the firm principle to follow in all things.

Debts:

If the debtor is in trouble, he’s granted a period of grace until he can pay, but if you forgive him the debt, it’s better for you.

Divorce:

If the spouses wish to be reconciled, God will agree.

Alms:

  • It is encouraged by God and must be done to please Him alone. He is the one who receives the alms.
  • To be virtuous give a part of what you love
  • If you can’t give alms, say at least one good word.

Atonement:

The renunciation of the retribution is atonement for sins:

  • No one can have faith if it’s not God’s will.
  • If combined with good works it is rewarded by God.
  • God loves those who trust in him.

Good works:

  • They will be rewarded by God
  • without faith they are vain
  • If you punish, you punish in proportion to the offence received. But if you bear it patiently, it will be even better for those who can bear

it.

Polygamy:

You won’t be able to be impartial with your wives even if you want to… and you won’t be able to overlook one or more.

Humility: It manifests itself in prayer

Veil:

Tell your wives, daughters and women of the believers to cover themselves in their cloaks (veils). It is the best way to be recognized and not to be harassed.

Virtue:

Goodness, almsgiving, trust in God, justice, honesty, good works, patience, humility.

People from the book:

The Qur’an is often ambivalent and ambiguous towards Christians and Book people, but it seems to make tolerance prevail, unfortunately not comforted in practice. Especially among the people the belief that non-Muslims are destined for hell remains rooted, and every Muslim always feels the more or less conscious desire to spread Islam.

  1. There are some verses, (God’s word for the Muslims), very hostile towards the C. and the Jews, (the people of the book) on the other hand chapters 3 and 19 of the Koran are full of tenderness in evoking Mary the Mother of Jesus, the birth of Mary and her childhood, The Annunciation, Christmas. a great veneration towards Jesus even though they do not consider him a child of God.
  2. in the early years he showed them friendship and then as the years went by he ordered to fight them.
  3. The scriptures remind us that man has a Creator, must obey His commandments, and will return to Him:
  • “We believe what has been revealed to us, we believe what has been revealed to you.

Our God and your God is one, and to Him we are submissive Muslims (Koran29,46).

  • Those who believe in God and do good on the last day and do good will all have their mercy from their Lord, they will have nothing to fear, nor will they feel sadness (2,62).

  1. Hostility:
  • Fight those who do not believe … and who consider lawful what God and His Messenger have declared unlawful and, among those to whom the book was given, those who do not profess the religion of truth. Fight them until they humbly pay the tribute. (9,29).
  • Let there be no constraint in religion! The righteous way is distinct from error … the unbelievers will end up in the fire and remain there forever (2,256).
  • Therefore, when you meet in battle those who do not believe, strike them in the neck, and after slaughtering them with blows, tighten the stumps well. Then, either grace or ransom (47,4).

Religious freedom: (2/256-257)

There is no compulsion in religion! The right path is distinct from error. He who denies idols… God is the patron of those who believe… but the patrons of those who do not believe are the idols, who bring them out of the light into darkness. The unbelievers will end up in the fire and stay there forever.

A hadith:

  • In the friendship, mercy and affection we bear witness to one another, the Believers resemble the human body: when one side suffers, the other knows the fever and insomnia.
  • the great Muslim mystic RABAA EL ADAWIYYA, who once walked around with a bucket of water in one hand and a torch in the other, saying: “I would like to extinguish hell with this water and burn heaven with this flame, so that it is no longer out of fear of a punishment, nor out of desire for a reward that we obey God, but out of pure self-interest.”

Quran

Read and apply the text to the letter without correlating it to the text as a whole.

  • The second way is to take the Koran as a whole and not look for the truth in the single sentence but in the general context.

Despite the existence of verses that contradict each other, modernist M. modernists assert that the Koran should be read as a single Chapter and not in the reading of a verse taken in isolation. The sacred texts are not closed in depth, but are a source of meditation and reflection.

Wives – You will not be able to be impartial with your wives even if you want to, and do not neglect some and if you are afraid of not being fair. Marry only one.

The problem of the veil fits into this framework: For centuries entire Islamic societies have not bothered to “dress” women, and they were no less religious than now. Today, some Islamic currents continue to cover the woman’s body as an essential message of Islam (which was addressed to Muhammad’s wives so that they would not be offended, and added that God continues to forgive!). Until a few years ago great thinkers (Taha Hussein, Jamal El din afghani, Mohamed Abdu… or the spiritual father of Pakistan Muhammad ikbal) have tried to renew the theological thought of Islam; they were esteemed by the people; today, for those who set out on their tracks hang the punishment of being slaughtered. God has given men the faculty to think…

ISLAMIC CENTERS:  teaching proposed in the name of Sharia

Sharia law bans:

  • For a Muslim woman to marry a non-Muslim.
  • For a Muslim woman to change her religion.
  • That the children may choose the religion of their non-Muslim mother.
  • that a Shia Muslim may marry a non-Muslim woman
  • To recognize that God, one and triune, and Allah are identical.

That the non-Muslim can inherit the patrimony of a Muslim the sharia law forbids that the WOMAN can:

  1. Inherit an equal share of man’s property.
  2. divorce a man
  3. Marry a man of her choice.
  4. Reject polygamy
  5. Traveling without her husband’s permission….
  • forbid a woman to greet a man with her hand without her husband’s permission
  • Forbid women to play sports, go swimming with men.
  • Forbid the woman to dress how she wants.
  • Forbid the woman to take the passport photo without the veil.
  • Prohibits studying music at school.
  • demands that the student or worker interrupt the lesson and go away to pray to
  • established hours
  • imposes male circumcision and female genital mutilation
  • requires separate compartments in public transport
  • Prohibitions, teachings, behaviour in the name of religion not covered
  • specifically by Sharia
  • To study Christianity, through the gospel and Christian sources.
  • to read the Koran in its context
  • to refuse genital mutilation or circumcision
  • To teach Arabic language and literature by a non-Muslim…
  • a non-Muslim will not have access to paradise
  • Can’t stand the subordination of a Muslim to a non-Muslim…
  • Can’t stand a Church standing next to a mosque.
  • Can’t stand the sound of bells near a Muslim place of worship.

Fight those who do not believe … and who consider lawful what God and His Messenger have declared unlawful and, among those to whom the book was given, those who do not profess the religion of truth. Fight them until they humbly pay the tribute. (9,29).

– Prescriptions of customs propagated in Italy in the name of Sharia law not specifically prescribed by Sharia law

– are only practiced in some environments of Arab countries, but are propagated in Italy in the name of religion.

– Prohibitions, teachings, behaviour in the name of religion not specifically covered by Sharia law

  • Evil must be repelled with a greater good. Repel evil with a greater good, and who was your enemy will become close friends. (41, v.34)
